Frequently Asked Questions
Are your products really all natural?
Yes! We craft our products from high quality ingredients, using a combination of organic, wild harvested, and/or fair trade oils, butters, salts, and sugars.
Are you cruelty free?
Yes. None of our products are tested on animals.
Are your products vegan?
All of our products are vegan except our Lip Balm and Beard Balm, which are currently made with beeswax, and our Sugar & Honey Scrub.
Do you use colorants or fragrance in your products?
No way! Our products are colored and scented with all natural or plant-based ingredients, such as alkanet root, sandalwood powder, Pink Himalayan sea salt, and essential oils. There are no artificial colors, micas, or fragrance oils in any of our products.
Where do you source your ingredients from?
The majority of our ingredients are sourced within the United States. We make every effort to utilize suppliers whose ethics and philosophies align with our own. As part of our effort to support fellow small businesses, one of our most commonly utilized suppliers is local to the Boston area.
Do your products have a shelf life?
Since our products are all natural and do not contain artificial preservatives of any kind, they do have a shelf life, typically 6 months for mists and 9 to 12 months for all other products. Storing products in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight will help extend shelf life as long as possible. Soap should be allowed to dry between uses to preserve the life of your bar.
How are your products made?
Our products are all handmade, from scratch, in small batches. We make all products ourselves in our production facilities in the Boston area.
Why does my product look different than it did last time?
All of our products are handmade in small batches to ensure peak freshness. This sometimes results in slight variations in the appearance of certain products. Alterations in color or clarity from batch to batch are normal and will not affect the efficacy or quality of the product.
Why do I see a white layer on top of my soap?
During the saponification process of all natural soap, a white layer sometimes develops as the soap is exposed to air. This is normal and will not affect the efficacy or quality of the soap in any way.
Packaging, Orders & Shipping
Why are some of your products packaged in glass? Wouldn’t plastic be easier?
While packaging in plastic might be easier, we believe in the importance of sustainability and choose glass in order to produce the greenest products possible. Additionally, glass better protects the integrity of the carrier oils and essential oils in our products.
How soon can I expect my order?
Orders are typically shipped within 72 hours of receiving payment. Since all of our products are hand-crafted, including creating, bottling, labeling, and shipping, there may be occasional exceptions to that. If you need your order by a certain date, send us an email and we’ll do our best to accommodate.
